The Canal & River Trust look after 2,000 miles of canals and rivers across England and Wales. Since they became a charity in 2012 they've grown to a level where they now have the support of 35,000 boaters, 14,000 volunteers and 32,000 friends and donors. Their role is to protect and revitalise our nation's canals, conserving their heritage and providing access for people to relax, travel and exercise.
The Canal & River trust needed brand and messaging consistency across digital, printed and merchandise items for their wide range of stakeholders. Coordinated storage, production and fulfilment services were needed to ensure the timely supply of consistently branded items for general safety messaging, event promotion and campaigns whilst upholding the core values of the organisation.
Through the use of our in-house platform, Brand iQ, we developed a comprehensive brand centre to support consistent marketing communications across their print, digital, and display channels. Ensuring all materials align with the organisation’s visual identity and messaging was key. To maintain brand integrity, we created both fixed and variable templates for printed items. These templates allow for flexibility where needed while preserving core brand elements and ensure consistency in every output. We also provide warehousing and stock management capabilities. Allowing users to easily order pre-approved items directly through the system, streamlining logistics and improving efficiency all with complete financial oversight. In addition, we provide on-going expert consultation on material specifications and manufacturing processes. This includes guidance on sustainable options, such as FSC-accredited materials, to reflect their environmental values and commitment to responsible sourcing. Implementing each brands' vision for the space then comes from collaborating with the client directly. Taking their requirements on board and advising the best way in which to achieve the desired outcome. Each event presents a new set of challenges for us to consider the best approach, this continued review and refinement of the process has earned us the position of being Magazine preferred brand implementation partner.
